OUR PASTOR

Reverend Richard James (RJ) Rose was called to Pastor First Baptist Church Coeburn in the summer of 2003. He graduated Coeburn High School in 1989 and went on to Clinch Valley College (now University of Virginia’s College at Wise) where he graduated in 1993. RJ, as he is lovingly called by his congregation went on to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated in 2003. RJ and his lovely wife, Wanda have two beautiful boys, Daniel and Ethan. In his spare time RJ enjoys spending time with his family, working on art projects, and playing tennis. RJ and his family have been a true blessing to the congregation of first Baptist Church as well as the Coeburn community and Wise County. If you ever need a listening ear, a caring heart, a friend to lean on or a helping hand, he is always there.
